the great american cleanup
April 24, 2021
It’s that time of year again! Winter is long gone, summer is on the horizon, and it’s time for The Great American Cleanup. It takes place on Saturday, April 24th, and runs from 9:00 am until noon. As part of its mission, Jeremiah Development is asking for volunteer help to assist in an annual cleanup in the Coronado-Haskell neighborhood. We’ll meet in the parking lot of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 412 N Church St., before the event begins. Bring gloves!
Please let us know if you plan to volunteer by calling or emailing: 815-627-0001 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
While it’s customary that an organizer provides refreshments, Covid-19 has prevented us from doing so this year. Coffee and donuts will be part of the program again in 2022.

An annual program for the benefit of the struggling and homeless in the greater Rockford area, LOVE Rockford is a one-stop-shop in which those who attend have access to several on-site services and can learn about a multitude of others to address persistent hunger, medical and emotional issues, drug or alcohol addition, and domestic abuse. It also has job-search resources for those looking for work and services specific to those dealing with chronic homelessness.
Summer 2021 marks the eighth season of the Jeremiah Development garden at the corner of Court Street and Park Avenue. This 30-bed garden is available to all residents and neighbors to harvest healthy fruits and vegetables throughout the growing season.
Light the night
Several years ago, Jeremiah Development learned of a Coronado-Haskell Neighborhood resident in need of a porch light. After arranging some work on her house by a professional electrician, the staff at Jeremiah Development realized that many other residences in the CNH would benefit from additional lighting.
