The garden is closed for the winter. It was a challenging growing season between the torrential rain in the spring and the extreme heat in July and August. We were able to maintain the beds, so vegetables were available for all who needed, but not the pathways between the beds. Much of our mulch was washed away in the spring rain and we were overcome with weeds! Thanks to the hard work of a volunteer, we reinforced the corners on half of the beds this fall and we will finish the rest before planting season in the spring.
We are currently planning the beds for next spring, planning the reconstruction of the pathways and taking a well deserved break. If you are interested in being on the Garden Committee or volunteering one Saturday morning a month, please email me at email@example.com.
