Jeremiah Development is a nonprofit organization founded in 2007 by the leaders of four downtown churches—Court Street United Methodist Church, Emmanuel Episcopal Church, First Presbyterian Church, and Second Congregational United Church of Christ—to promote the well-being of the neighborhood.
The organization’s overarching goal is to improve the quality of life in the neighborhood. To that end, it strives to assist in maintaining safe, affordable, quality housing; it partners with other organizations to create and implement programs which enable residents of the neighborhood to develop the capacity to success; it supports opportunities for neighborhood businesses to grow; and advocates the beautification and enhancement of the neighborhood.
If you’re interested in learning more about the founding churches, note that two of them have merged. First Presbyterian Church and Second Congregational United Church of Christ are know known as SecondFirst Church.
